Tall ceilings and big windows, meant that we needed to find long curtains, but finding long curtains that didn’t require spending a small fortune was difficult. After our millionth trip to Lowes, I had a ‘duh,’ moment! Why not drop cloth curtains?

My mom had a ton of chalk paint at home, and a few newly bought stencils that were just dying to be used. With that in mind we bought two drop cloths, curtain rings, and a curtain rod and headed home!

~The Supplies~

Drop cloths in the appropriate count and size for your windows
A stencil
Stencil brush
Paint (I used chalk paint)
Curtain clip rings
Curtain Rod

~The Steps~

Step 1

Find a place to lay out your drop cloth, and place the stencil where you want it.

Step 2

Stencil the curtain in the desired pattern. I used a sort of checker-board pattern, working across the curtain.

Step 3

Once complete, hang curtain rod, insert curtain rings, and clip on curtains!
