Hey friends! I’m Erin, founder of White Walls. I founded WW in October of 2013 by creating a Facebook group for military families to come together to inspire others in making their house a home.
I’ve always been one who enjoys looking at other peoples homes, seeing how they decorate. I’ve lived in a few houses on base that had awkward nooks or areas and wondered how everyone else decorated that same space. White Walls is the perfect place to discuss those problems.
How long have you been a military spouse? My husband enlisted 2 years before we were married in 2003 – 14 years!
We’ve been to Ramstein AB in Germany, Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana, Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas and we’re currently stationed at Creech AFB outside of Las Vegas, Nevada! And we do DITY moves every time (besides the move from Germany to Montana)!!
What are your hobbies? One of my favorite things to do is snuggle up to a movie and knit/crochet. I love garage selling on early Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee and finding new treasures. My daughter and I love spending girls time wondering around in antique shops around Vegas. In my alone time I often read, watch the news and drink coffee, and work on White Walls.
What is your decorating style? I love mixing up light colors and dark wood. Since I have kids, I love to distress furniture – it hides the wear and tear of kids! Around my home I have a lot of old items of my grandma & great grandma – including old canisters, keys, bibles, a clown cookie jar and even a Pillsbury Doughboy cup!
